Yesterday  in  the equity market, the Indian rupee having initial losses and was still quoted 22 paisa  lower at 62.38 per US dollar on demand for the US currency from banks and importers.

 Extending its rising streak for the third straight day, the rupee today strengthened by 12 paise to 61.83 against the dollar in early trade at the interbank Foreign Exchange market on increased selling of the US currency by exporters.

The Indian rupee surrendered initial gains and fell for the second day, losing eight paise to 62.09 against the US dollar today as concerns about the US Federal Reserve tapering its stimulus programme outweighed RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan's surprise status quo decision on interest rates.

Key benchmark index dropped in volatile trade on heightened speculation that the Federal Reserve may be about to start cutting back on its stimulus program. Nifty was down 31points to 6,332. The index hit a low of 6,307 and  hit a high of 6,362.25 in intraday trade....

Nifty fell 40 points  to 6,160. The index hit a low of 6,149  in intraday trade. The index hit a high of 6,209 in intraday trade.

Tomorrow , we expect a down-day ,the range of 6150-6180 is to be tested ....

As we have predicted  nifty  continues to move up ,it crossed 6300 for a period of time. It made a high of 6307 and a low of 6253 today....

It is good that the markets are going into budget with weakness.
In fact last month when the Finance Minister was meeting foreign investors and FIIs and all that, you could feel that he is really concerned about the equity market and we all know that over the past five years, most of them have not made money into equity markets and most of the money has been into gold and into property. So some positive steps in the budget like reducing the short term because if you see the government revenue from short term capital gain tax over the past few years, it has been very low. So one of the things which the Finance Minister could do to really bring back the good mood in the market would be slashing the short term capital gain tax from 15% to 10%....

After 9 months, RBI has finally announced a Repo cut which could be the beginning of further cuts this year. On the basis of current assessment and in line with the policy stance outlined in Section III, the Reserve Bank announces the following policy measures:RBI cuts REPO rate and CRR by both 0.25%. Market expected this and same has come just CRR is some surprise but that is not to big one. The Nifty closed at 6049.90, down 24.90 points after touching a high of 6,111.80 intra-day....

The market began the calendar on an upbeat note, as sentiment was boosted by the fiscal deal in US .Nifty advanced 48  points  to settle at 5,950 , its highest closing level since last two years.. The index hit high of 5,963 and a low of 5,935 in intraday trade. The index would open gap up and try to clear the resistance around 5920....

NIFTY OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW

As we have predicted yesterday nifty after starting around 5900 could not maintain the level and slip into red to make a low of 5844 today. The end-of-day price chart for the Nifty does not reflect that optimism at all. It continues to warn us that we are headed for a corrective downdraft however short lived that may be before we start going up again.
It is true that the long term trend of our market is up  however As it is, even if you see the market moving up from here, at best a 2% upswing can be seen before a serious corrective swing setting in....

Nifty opened near 4940 but could not  sustained above it and dropped till 5904 at the end of the day.The Nifty looks well set for another gap up opening on Monday  morning above 5900. Initially, we need to monitor the price movement around the first key price zone between 5920 and 5940 if the index stays above 5940 on sustained basis then we can expect it to climb higher....
