After taking a day’s breather, bulls were back to winning ways on Thursday, as better results from banks and improving sentiment in IT stocks lifted the market mood. . Covering up of pending short positions by speculators on expiry of the April derivatives contracts and encouraging earnings by Yes Bank added to the momentum. Market ended the day on a bullish note, with the Sensex was up 200 points, while the Nifty was above 10,600-mark. The Sensex took off on a positive note at 34532 and advanced to the day’s high of 34747 before ending at 34713, up 212 points. This is its highest closing since 5 February, when it had finished at 34757. The Nifty ended at 10619, up 49 points, after shuttling between 10621 and 10556.

Bulls came in action & took the nifty above 10600 mark. The Sensex jumped 165 points up to close at 34616 on Tuesday, while the Nifty future ended 35 points higher at 10621. The market sentiments were boosted by financials, energy and pharma stocks. Gains were capped by a fall in metal stocks that slipped on the back of a fall in aluminum prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME). Reliance Industries (RIL) gained nearly 4% in trade to end at Rs 970 levels. Hindalco plunged as much as 9.3%, its biggest intraday percentage loss since early November 2016. Vedanta fell as much as 5.5% in intraday to end 2.4% lower, while National aluminium was down 7%.  Nifty future has opened at 10582 made a high of 10635 and low of 10568.

Sensex opened the week at 34157, made a high of 34524, low of 34110 and closed the week at 34415. Thus the Sensex closed the week with a gain of 230 points. At the same time, the Nifty opened the week at 10441, made a high of 10597 low of 10431 and closed the week at 10595. Thus the nifty closed the week with a gain of 100 points. Sensex and  Nifty closed higher on Friday. The NSE IT index gained about 5 per cent, with the country's top software services exporter Tata Consultancy Services Ltd marking its record closing high. The nifty ended up by 12  points or 0.2 per cent at 10,595, gaining 0.8 per cent for the week. The sensex gaining 0.6 percent for the week. Both indexes marked a fourth consecutive weekly gain.

Bank Nifty opened the week at 25098, made a high of 25448, low of 24862 and closed the week at 25050. Thus it closed the week with a loss of 169 points. As the bank nifty is managing to trade above its 22 and 55&200 days moving averages with the RSI of 52, one may expect the targets of 25200/25500 in the stock if it manages to sustain above the immediate support level of 24850/24800.

NIFTY PREDICTION & TCS UPDATE FOR 20 APRIL 2018

Market closed on bullish note.. Consolidation was witnessed in the market today. Market sentiments were optimistic ahead of quarterly earnings of some key companies, including TCS, which will release its results later in the day & also traders were cautious ahead of the release of Reserve Bank of India’s latest policy meeting minutes later in the day. The Sensex closed higher by 95 points to 34427, while the Nifty future rose 40 points close at 10579. Nifty future has started the day at 10581 made a high of 10585 and low of 10550. TCS is all set to release its March quarter earnings on Thursday. The January-March quarterly numbers for the IT pack as a whole will get better than a year ago. Depreciation of the dollar against major currencies is expected to provide cross-currency tailwind of 60-130 bps and 20-50 bps to margins.

Nifty continued with its winning momentum, and ended  session in the green Though the session ended with modest gains, it saw a V-shaped intraday recovery while the Nifty tested its important near-term resistance.
